Yep you entered the 30s a little over a year after I left them. Enjoy it, the 40s are a lot more painful.

With a herniated disc, degeneration in my neck and back, and bursitis in my hip at 30, I don't think I'm going to make it to 40.

So I made a "2009 Disc Golf Wish List" of tournaments I'd like to play. With a baby on the way any week now, I'll consider myself lucky if I can make any two of these. But here goes:
The Memorial
- AZ - I've always wanted to play this tournament. Might be too close to the birth to leave for a weekend.
St. Patrick's Classic
- CA - Closer and cheaper, but if proximity to birth was a problem for the Memorial, this is only two weeks later.
Beaver State Fling
- OR - Fun course and fairly local. But the weekend after our weddingish. Don't know plausibility. (Honeymoon?!)
Ft. Steilacoom Open
- WA - Not really a #1 on my list, but it's an excuse to go visit friends in Seattle.
LiCkAtHoN
- CT - If it happens, I'll get there, come hell or high water.
King of the Lake
- NV/CA - The most likely, all courses are within 2 hrs drive of here, only 2 day commitment, reasonably priced.
Pro Worlds
- MO - I'm not *technically* qualified, but I could wait-list it. I played very well at these courses in '05. Very expensive and a week's commitment: not looking likely.
Vibram Open
- MA - An NT, fun courses (though I've never had even one good round there). Might be a chance to play with Cromwell. Doubtful that I'll qualify for it, though.
Cranberry Classic
- CT - One of the other two likeliest, I might be able to coincide this with a work trip. Haven't played the course in years, and heard amazing things about it.
Yetter
- PA - One of my favorite courses and clubs. Also might be able to coincide. Two of my 5 thousand rated rounds at Tyler.
I am now accepting sponsorship money.

I did actually write a lullaby. Maybe I'll have to post that some day.
Playing a C-Tier tomorrow in NJ (back for the week for work). My back tweaked earlier in the week, so I'm not expecting miracles. And I only brought 6 discs. Gonna be fun.

I would totally be there if LiCkAtHoN was happening (a tourney in CT.) But as far as I know, LiCkAtHoN is dead.
I will likely be making a trip sometime this summer. Unsure of when. I'll keep you posted.

I'll actually be back in Jersey in July for work, though if I'm able to pick a weekend, it's going to be later in the month so I can play the Jersey Jam. We'll have to see.

Derek, the monsoon course we played at Antioch College; it is being moved to
a State Park, John Bryan Park. It will be a lot more interesting I believe as it will
be in the woods with cliffs and small stream (river) I don't know if there will be
any open fairways att. I kind of hope a few are so there will be a good assortment.
Let ya know LOL as if you'll fly to Ohio just to check it out. But, who knows

I did some interesting stat research on myself using every round I've logged as a PDGA member since '04. My hypothesis is that I start every year very poorly and get better as the year goes on. So I tried to just find out what my average round rating was per month since '04.
January: 0 tournament rounds
February: 930 average rating over 7 rounds
March: 949 avg in 17 rounds
April: 944 avg in 25 rounds
May: 930 avg in 21 rounds
June: 960 avg in 33 rounds
July: 940 avg in 20 rounds
August: 955 avg in 19 rounds
September: 945 in 47 rounds
October: 945 in 8 rounds
November: 0 tourney rounds
December: 0 tourney rounds
But the problem is - aside from telling me that I seem to play an awful lot of tournament rounds in September, these numbers tell me very little. Because it's combining all years, including 2004 where my rating was 892 and 2009, where my rating was 971. For instance, I played more as the year went on in 2004 with my crappy rating, and played very little the last two years with my best rating. Also, I only played in Feb years where I ended with a strong rating. Essentially, the data is inaccurate and kinda haphazard. So what I did was I went through each round and compared it to my rating at the time. To see if I threw above or below my rating for that time period. And just then, a distinct pattern came into view.
January: 0 rounds
February: I average 23 points LOWER (-23) than my rating PER ROUND
March: -7 points avg per round
April: 0 points
May: -9 points
June: +19 points
July: +2 points
August: 19 points
September: +8 points
October: +6 points
With April and July being minor aberrations, it's a distinct parabola. Not only do I play much better after having thrown (and ostensibly practiced) for a few months, but I also appear to favor warm weather. Maybe I should try to play as much non-sanctioned golf in January and February as possible so I can be warm and ready for April. Just a thought.
Also, I think this shows that I'm a stat nerd with too much free time.

This is interesting, maybe I'll do this for all my months from 2001-present...(maybe 2002, when I completed my first full year of pro)
